Hello everyone,
I am thrilled to announce today that I am running for the Special Council of Horizen.
Thank you, Rolf, for laying the groundwork for what should be highlighted in our candidacies.
My Journey After Discovering Cryptos and ZEN
My adventure with the fascinating world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain began in 2013 with Bitcoin. Looking back, I do regret my “wait and see” stance back then, as I didn’t invest immediately.
What instantly drew me to cryptocurrencies was the concept of financial freedom. Bitcoin came in as a robust alternative to the existing financial system.
In 2018, Dominic, the French ambassador at the time, introduced me to Zencash (yes, that’s what it was called then!). He was looking for an English-French translator for the local community. And it was love at first sight. I discovered the project that would change my life.
As a strong supporter of Snowden, what captivated me most about Zencash at that moment was the respect for privacy and the discovery of zkSNARKS, which I found fascinating.
I was a customer service advisor at that time, loving customer relationships and making technical topics accessible. I held a bachelor’s degree in management, traveled extensively, and focused on hedonistic pleasures, encounters, and discovery. I was learning from life to the fullest.
Just weeks after my onboarding as a translator (white papers, documentation, voice-overs for presentation videos), I presented Horizen at an event in Strasbourg and officially became an ambassador!
Blockchain and cryptocurrencies were a revelation, and I wanted to make them my career.
In 2019, I became self-employed and started a contract with Talium Assets as a digital project manager. In 2020, I began a master’s in digital project management, which I completed in March 2021. During this time, I started working on a project connecting blockchain and multimodal transport as a marketing and communication manager. I also began part-time work with the ZEN Blockchain Foundation as a marketing associate.
At this time I was doing mainly translations, events, video tutorials, and community support.
All these experiences have been professionally successful. I’ve learned a lot and immensely enjoyed evangelizing about the projects I was invested in.
My ZEN Life
ZEN’s respect for privacy and the allure of zkSNARKS have kept my passion alive.
In 2022, I had more time and increased my hours working for the foundation. My longstanding goal has always been to ensure the community is heard. I took care of the Horizen Ambassador program, did some social media moderation, was at community support, speaker at conferences. I also wrote articles for the blog and the Horizen Academy. I also loved the part of the job related to the DAO (proposal follow-up and moderation).
I have a deep affection for ZEN. I’ve always believed in ZEN and wanted to contribute to its evolution.
In October 2024, my contract with the foundation ended, a logical progression with the DAO’s implementation and the transfer of marketing and communication responsibilities to Horizen Labs.
A golden opportunity for me! Not being tied to the Horizen Foundation means no conflicts of interest, allowing me to fully apply for the Special Council.
What to Do with ZEN?
I love ZEN because its fundamentals are exceptional. The company’s uniqueness and strength have always been embraced. Having closely interacted with the community, foundation contractors, and company employees, the talent pool is vast.
The artistic use of zkSNARKS, passionate individuals, and solid fundamentals make ZEN stand out.
What Horizen lacks today is the recognition it deserves. Horizen has undergone major evolutions over the years, making it hard to keep up.
I believe we’re on the right track. With the connection to zkVerify, the narrative has found its place.
My priority will be to ensure the smooth execution of ZenIPs and to address all community queries. ZenIPs must be understood by everyone within and beyond the Horizen community.
“There will be 750,000 ZEN in the Horizen DAO treasury on the day of the migration, and 2,250,000 more in the next four years. This ZEN must last for the rest of ZEN’s existence and must be used to earn more ZEN through staking. How do you think the Treasury should prioritize the spending of ZEN after the migration?”
I believe we should prioritize the community as a whole:
- Newcomers should find joy in learning and be rewarded for their efforts. There are so many interesting things to learn with ZEN and such a comprehensive academy! We must leverage these tools.
- Current community members should be able to participate and be rewarded for their loyalty, whether through contests, games, NFTs, or continuous learning.
- When experts see ZEN, they should have no doubt: this is the place to develop. I believe a significant portion of the Treasury should go into grants.
I’m not here to decide alone. I invite the community to share its wishes. If grants are to be issued, it’s up to the community to decide where. My role in the DAO will be to ensure information is well communicated and adequately handled.
I hope my candidacy resonates with you. Since I don’t have the required amount of ZEN to post my candidacy, please support me and tell me if you are ready to delegate your ZEN
Thank you for reading this far—it was long, but passionate, as always
Vote for me and let’s shape the future of Horizen together!
